About the Artist
MK Frongillo found a love for art at a young age and over the years she has developed her skills using a myriad of different mediums and styles. After years of experimentation she discovered her passion for soft pastels. Using these highly pigmented sticks, she found she was able to lend vibrance and life to the many subjects she portrays. In that vein, much of her work focuses on enhancing the color and brilliance of reality, expressing a truer vitality often lost in translation.
Active in the animal rescue community, MK initially used her own foster dogs as subjects to begin exploring pet portraiture. She lives in the mountains of Colorado where she is constantly surrounded by the beauty and whimsy of nature, seeing every day as an opportunity to experience something new and worthy of capturing in her art. Her love of both animals and nature has significantly influenced her artwork. From landscapes to portraiture, she aims to express more than what is visible to the eye, but the personality and energy of the subject in that moment.
